Perhaps David Cammeron would like to hug the person who stole his bike?
With one hand protecting the next generation of Benefit claimants, this wannabe gangsta communicates in the only way he knows.
If this had happened in Ruralshire, we would have sent a PCSO to take details.
The next day, a civilian agency worker employed in our call centre, would have telephoned him to try and persuade him that he had actually lost the bike.
If this had failed, we would have tried to persuade anyone arrested for bike theft anywhere in the County to “have” the offence as a Tic, and failing that, we would have “filed” it as “undetected”.
We would have salvaged the “detected crime” rate immediately by finding someone with some cannabis (perhaps even the Home Secretary) and giving them a “Cannabis Warning”.
Phew. It is a busy life in Ruralshire Constabulary.

gadget you can gain a detection for this crime here:

Labour suffers by-election ‘earthquake’
And the Government in the form of dear Jacqui Smith have again forced the pay negotiations with the Federation to come too a halt, thus preventing our pay rise to take effect from the 1st September.
This is the same Jacqui Smith who recently voted in the commons to keep her ‘John Lewis’ shopping list account and who is opposed to scrutiny of MPs expenses.
I’m actually surprised that Cameron doesn’t have a security detail following him around. I mean, let’s be honest here: after Glasgow East, the job’s his as soon as the clock runs out on Gordo’s stint as caretaker.
[sad bike wanker]That eBay listing would be funnier if the description actually matched the bike[/sad bike wanker]
You know what this means now…. an even greater emphasis on the victims of crime and customer service.
Now David has been a victim he’ll milk this for all the empathy he can manage. Do you think anyone will ring him with a customer satisfaction survey?
Did he leave his bike outside Tesco unlocked? Do we think he’d be that naive?
no he locked it to a bollard, some clever criminal simply lifted it over it lol.
Cunning stunt.
Idont think any crime has been commited. I’ sure the “borrower” didn’t permantly depriive him there of [NO INTENT]
Let’s be fair here….a victim is a victim.
Obviously, in view of the profile this bike has, I expect to see it on e-bay soon with its pedigree described.
I also then expect the vendor to be sued (using the same judge as in the Max Mosely case) for the distress to Mr C’s feelings. Should be worth at least £60 000 to Mr C. Does that have to go to party funds?
I think I recognise the guy in the hoodie, him and his clones live on my estate. I hadn’t realised (living in the reality bubble that is York) that shell suits were still manufactured let alone purchased and worn until I downgraded last year to a less salubrious part of town.
I do not understand the long socks with “trousers” tucked in look. Perhaps I am getting old.
Wanted to say a big well done on the book, just pre-ordered .
And also to bring this to your attention if for some reason you hadn’t seen it: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=a2p_7BDUXTk
I was heartened by the response – not least the recommendation to use the local library – would it be bad form to use this as promotional material for the library I wonder…….? We’re crap marketing ourselves usually but this could just be the breakthrough advert
Keep up the good stuff.
More to do with yesterday’s post about sentences for cop killers but this chap -http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2008/0724/1216741027916.html has at least gone down again this time for some difficulties with his import/export business http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2008/0724/1216741027916.html. Should be of some small comfort to the late PC Mason’s family and colleagues.

Now seriously Boss, if the leader of the Tories calls in a theft, you reckon they’d send a PCSO? Fat chance. The gaffers would be falling over themselves to get a Senior Defective around and a detection, like I said.
Without fear, favour, affection, malice or ill-will …… my arse.
C’mon Gadget. Keep this blog’s standards up. Kindly monitor dyslexic Bill’s post at 6 above!!
Dickiebo – Dyslexic? I was merely stating that which ever youth stole said bike had in fact pulled off quite a coup.
What did you think I meant?
“Tom Bogdanovich of the London Cycling Campaign said he hoped the theft would not discourage Mr Cameron from using his bike.”
With the best will in the world, Tom, it’s pretty hard for him to use it now!
perhaps mr c will take the opportunity to check he is kept updated with enquiries and when he is he can ask how many hours has gone in to this case?
Sorry, Wild Bill. I’m just confused!!!
Toytowner
It starts off like that but I remember ( along time ago) when a foreign exchange student was punched on the nose by a local yob. Local yob was caught soon afterwards. But,- the foreign exchange student’s dad was v. high up in the Italian Carabinieri, and he told the British Ambassador , who told the foreign secretary, who told the home secretary, who told the CC, who told the C/Supt, who told the CInsp, who told the Insp who told the Sgt who told me the story and asked ‘what are you doing about it?’
Sh*t rolls down hill and the PC on the street lives in the valley
Blueknight dont you mean we live in a sludge pit let alone a valley.
Ref Bob comment 2.
Its a disgrace that they (MPs)get to vote on their own pay/expenses it should be done independantly. Have you noticed when its their personal itinery thats being voted on the houses of parliament are full to bursting but when talking about flooding, environment etc theres about four people in the houses. Thats becasue they’re all out spending money on their second houses and paying their sons for doing f’all. Shouldnt that be fraud (the old trick you to treat me), shouldnt these MPs be arrested instead of saying whoops sorry I messed up again???
Mind you their friends on the bench would let them off anyway!!
Perhaps he meant that Cameron can borrow his (Tom’s) bike? A “Spirit of the Blitz” award to Mr Bogdanovich!
Good news, everyone! Prison overcrowding has been solved:
Human rights lawyer named as new DPP.
The mind boggles. Has Gordo just given up then? Is he poisoning the well for his successor?
@Rogerborg, are you surprised? mind you it could have been worse:

So now the CPS veers wildly to the Left in a last-ditch attempt by ZanuLabour to keep it’s ’social engineering’ bandwagon rolling.
I remember when the Police did their own prosecuting. Every file went via the Inspector, who was often the prosecutor as well. Much less paperwork and a much higher success rate.
I guess that depends if your definition of success is “Banging up wrong ‘uns” or “Leveraging cross-agency synergies to facilitate a win-win justice scenario that empowers stakeholders”, or whatever bullsh… uh, mission statement the CPS will have now.
I’ve got one for them:
Metus amatores matrum compescit, non clementia.

I have seen it done in the past and it stopped the trolls.
Apparently the Sunday Mirror have found our next PM’s bike. Is this the same paper that filmed him going the wrong way up a one-way street? Jeez these papers will do anything to errrrrr sell more papers.
One thing that has always puzzled me. What mode of transport was the camera person using following said next PM’s bike? Wasnt he/she also going the wrong way on that mode of transport? Of course the cameraperson could just be running very very fast!
