Another Government minister has resigned over allegations of Spanish practices, this time with political donations to his election campaign.
Interestingly, it was only when confronted with the prospect of a tape recorded ‘chat’ with us that he decided to go. Mind you, Hain has had mixed experiences with police officers before.

Famously, as Secretary Of State for Northern Ireland, he fell asleep in a meeting with Raymond McCord while discussing the police investigation into the murder of his son by a Loyalist paramilitary group.
Hain is another of those who has never actually had a ‘job’ as you and I would describe it. A political activist, then a Trade Union researcher and then a politician.
Well, if the decision to cut our pay was one of joint cabinet responsibility, I suppose we shouldn’t be shedding to many tears.

But hang on a minute……. if this has to get dealt with by Ruralshire Constabulary, we will NOT be interested. All that work, expense and paperwork for only ONE detection figure! Or would we ‘Crime’ every separate donation and detect them all?
I think he’s been hard done by. We all know it’s perfectly acceptable to have a ’slip of the mind’ if you’re a politician.
Honesty and Integrity are just not part of the job description. In fact, if you’ve got either of these, you won’t get very far.
The fall of peam tan Peter Hain is down to the work of blogger guido fawkes, check his blog out if you haven’t heard of him, fantastic. Though if you read the Guardian please dont as you may have a heart attack. On second thoughts……
Did any of our current political ‘leaders’ ever have a proper job?
The Dave Sparts have only ever known agitprop meetings schedules, madam chair and Maggie, Maggie Maggie…OUT OUT OUT!, then election to the local council, the GLC, Parliament and then feathering their socialist nests in the House of Lords.
Hopefully the arch-municipal socialist - Ken Leninspart will soon be the subject of some criminal investigations along with his mate, the very respectable Lee GRASPER. I can only wonder what the orange coloured Sarth Efriken is so worried about - he must be given the length of time it has taken him to resign.
As has been mentioned many times elsewhere, he can always become a cricket groundsman!

I was just going to say what ranter said, but as it is already said I will reinforce it.
Have any of them had a proper job ?
Are they intent on setting meaningless targets for themselves ?
Who are they accountable to ?
This could be a simple pass or fail thing which is reviewed every 5 years or so.

I’ve already said this. It appears to be no-one.
Would you like a job where it seems you are not truly accountable in the terms that everyone else is. You do not do anything wrong but only make inadvertant errors. You always learn from your unfortunate mistakes without any real consequences. You can get by in life without ever seeming to have done a days work in your life.
You never see these types of jobs advertised. Wonder why ? That is one of those statement type of questions I simply do not know the answer to.
Claim to represent the electors but only follow the word, instruction and policies of the governing masses and fail to represent the voice of constituents. They always seem so intent on there local issues but always seem to vote on issues following the party line. They admit no failings, answer no questions and seem unaccountable.

I know your rural and sometimes get limited by those Horizons but this here Hain job is a beauty for every (bean counter) in MPS.
Firstly Interview which would be fun fun fun, i can think of a thousand jokes already
Secondly we prepare a few specimen charges using the COSH method with CPS (That not an acronym i actually mean we smack em around the head and authorise the charges that way)
Then we prepare a TIC Schedule for 99,995 other offences to be taken into consideration.
He goes to court pleads, gets a 1/3 of nothing which is erm more nothing.
MPS detection rate for Political Corruption which we know is down gets a real boost.

I like the way your bovine response group has not only blues in one ear but also hi viz in the other ear and i can even make out their collar numbers.
Looks like some sort of public order event judging by the serials in the background but i am pleased to see appropriate risk assessments being conducted and proper gear worn.
Is it me though, or coppers starting to look Veally young these days.
I am very interested to know how all that money was spent when his past record as a politician is freely available to those having to make a decision as to who should be deputy leader.Is there any way of finding out ?
That name, LEE JASPER, oh how the blood boils, this man who purports to represent the black population has never done a days work in his life and is on a 6 figure salary. I remember him telling the police to stop picking on black youth etc when muggings were on an epidemic scale, all the victims stating they were robbed by a young black youth, that was 30 yrs ago.
I did laugh when I saw the news.
I can imagine the Police interview starting with the cops having a great big grin on their faces.. ‘ So, what about this payrise we aren’t getting..’
jerym, you ask where all the money has been spent. Well, take one look at Hain and you will see the answer, a dodgy suntan parlour.
There are anodyne biogs of all of the Home Office Ministers on the home office website if any one feels the needs to find out about them. But lest we forget…….
PETER HAIN
A 1972 private prosecution brought by Francis Bennion in regard to his leadership of the illegal direct-action interference with the tours resulted in a ten-day Old Bailey Trial with the jury failing to agree on three charges and hence he was acquitted on those charges, but Peter Hain was found guilty of criminal conspiracy and fined £200. He appealed against the conviction in 1973. The Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal with costs. As reported in the Daily Telegraph of 23 October 1973, the court said his conviction was “fully justified”. Lord Justice Roskill said Hain had not elected to give evidence, adding that “He gave no explanation of his part over the incidents with which he was charged.”
JACQUI SMITH
On the 19 July 2007 she admitted to smoking cannabis a number of times in Oxford in the 1980s. She at first stated her behaviour had been wrong, and urged people not to try it especially considering the side effects and alleged strengthening of cannabis that had occurred since that time. Later on in the statement, she made a virtue of her having smoked cannabis, as having “given her the experiences to understand that she wants crime tackled”. This information was made public the day after Gordon Brown appointed her head of a new government review of the UK Drugs strategy.
Whoever gets the job of investigating Permatan Peter please bear in mind the blindingly obvious from Machiavelli

Is the failure to back date Police pay a result of ministerial incompetance or is it revenge for the embarrassment caused to Labour by the cash for honours enquiry?
I keep on hearing rumours that Permatan Pete was once tried for a bank robbery, but got off because he asserted that a ‘lookalike’ stooge from the then South African Bureau of State Security did it instead. Any comment?
